Due to the temporary pause of the PVSA program, CYD has joined the Alliance Presidential Volunteer Service Award (AVSA) initiative to continue recognizing our members’ contributions to the community.
This award is given to members who participate in multiple volunteer activities, such as helping at cultural events, assisting with community clean-ups, creating websites or posters, and supporting local non-profit organizations.
AVSA encourages our youth to give back to the community, develop leadership skills, and gain meaningful experiences that benefit both their personal growth and future opportunities.
This award is given to our members that have participated in multiple volunteering events. For example, picking up trash, cleaning the USS Midway ship, making websites or posters, and volunteering at the House of China. This is a fantastic experience for children of all ages to try out as it helps both your child’s future and our community.
The PVSA program is temporarily paused. We are now participating in the Alliance Presidential Volunteer Service Award (AVSA).
House of China is a local exhibit that focuses on the historical artifacts of Ancient China. We can practice our people skills, learn how to handle food and beverages while also taking care of money. When volunteering here, the hours are put into earning a presidential volunteering service award.
